For some folks, a few bowl hits here and there is more than enough to satisfy their weed craving. But for others, they prefer to smoke weed every day religiously. According to a study recently published in the online journal Lancet Psychiatry, more Americans are smoking pot than ever before. And 8.4 million of them are smoking weed every day. While many of them have their reasons, like easing their anxiety, for example, others don’t need an excuse.
Smoking pot is safer than taking pills and drinking
It’s no secret that alcohol and prescription drugs are highly addictive. That’s not to say that a person can’t become addicted if they smoke weed every day, but the odds of that happening are much lower than other substances used daily. Just take it from someone who knows what it’s like to smoke weed every day for years and then suddenly go pot-free. It’s called a tolerance break, and lots of weed smokers take them. Some people can go as long as a few months without picking up the pipe, even if they’re heavy smokers.
While refraining from cannabis isn’t typically that difficult, the same cannot be said for prescription drugs and alcohol. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), “over 20 million people nationwide suffer from drug and alcohol abuse issues.” Once someone becomes addicted to either alcohol or pills, if they want to quit, then they usually must seek therapy to help them tackle the withdrawal symptoms, which can be quite costly. Also, both substances lead to significant health problems, such as liver disease, seizures, and even death.
Cannabis, on the other hand, isn’t associated with any major health risks. And for someone who’s looking to lay down the bong, they might have a few weird dreams, less of an appetite, or find that they drool while they sleep after they quit. But that’s a whole lot easier to manage than tremors, abdominal cramps, and vomiting, which are all common symptoms of pill and alcohol withdrawal.
The stigma surrounding people smoking Marijuana every day is a big bullshit
Perhaps the most prime reason why you should smoke weed every day is that it doesn’t make you any less of a person than the stuck-up snob that swears cannabis is the devil’s plant. The stigma associated with people who smoke weed every day is bullshit in so many ways. First of all, weed doesn’t make you lazy. There are plenty of athletes out there, like Ricky Williams, who smoke weed every day and are in tip-top shape. Second, just because you smoke weed doesn’t mean you can’t be successful. In fact, some of the world’s top CEOs have smoked pot. For example, George Zimmer, Richard Branson, and Sergey Bren, just to name a few.
Choosing to smoke weed every day is your business. And by choosing to do so, you’re only helping to eliminate the existing stigma by proving that you can smoke pot and still live life to its fullest. Before long, cannabis will be legal worldwide. So to anyone who opposes it, well, they better buckle up and get used to it because the war on drugs has and will always be a giant fail.
You live a better life with more fun
Life tends to be hectic and stressful. And because of that, it can be hard to appreciate the world in front of you. While weed isn’t the answer to everyone’s problems, if you smoke weed every day it can certainly help you relax and distract you from your negative thoughts.
In more ways than one, weed offers a great sense of relief, from easing anxiety to reducing pain. For those that deal with things like stress and chronic pain, it can feel as though you’re carrying tons of weight on your shoulders, which will undoubtedly hold you back from enjoying all that the world has to offer. Again, cannabis isn’t a cure per say, but it does help.
Even activities you aren’t typically fond of can be a blast when you smoke weed every day. Something as simple as spreading out a blanket and lying down to gaze at the clouds can entertain you for hours. Or, kicking back and watching some random movie on Netflix. You name it; chances are you’ll have an excellent time.
Weed smokers have lower amounts of body fat than non-smokers and are healthier
You would think that people who smoke weed every day would blow up like a balloon from the munchies and binging on junk food. But as it turns out, weed smokers have less abdominal fat and lower blood sugar levels than people who don’t smoke, despite the fact that they consume nearly 600 more calories a day. Also, weed smokers are less likely to develop type 2 diabetes. Additionally, they have lower levels of bad cholesterol and a reduced risk of heart disease.
