The Death Star strain is a cross between Sensi Star and Sour Diesel, and most evidence points to the strain originating from the great state of Ohio. Death Star first appeared on the scene in the early to mid 2000s, however the strain has grown immensely popular over the past couple years, especially after High Times did a piece on the strain in their Febuary 2010 edition. The awsome name and recognition that comes along with it probably had something to do with Death Star’s meteoric rise to the top. Sensi Star is a fruity indica and Sour Diesel is a pungent stinky hybrid. Deathstar is a sucessful attempt at bringing out the best qualities of both strains. There has been a lot of hype surrounding this strain, maybe due to the upcoming Star Wars Film, and anyone who knows me knows I’m game for anything Star Wars. The flavor of Death Star smoke is delicious and leaves you with that definitive diesel after taste. Although the smoke was slightly harsh on the throat, I am going to try vaping this strain next time I get my hands on it, that or some old school ice in the bong should rectify that problem. The high produced from this strain is top notch. It truly demonstrates qualities from both the sativa and the indica sides of its lineage. Death Star has been found useful in the treatment of anxiety, appetite issues, nausea, stress, and chronic pain. Death Star is a strain renowned for its high THC content (consistantly hitting the 20%+ THC mark) and the resulting potency of its high. The sour flavor may not be to everyone’s taste, but if you enjoy the Diesel type strains as I do, then you will definitely appreciate the Death Star strain.
