High CBD Cannabis Strains – NEW Updates

NEW Updates for 2019

CBD stands for cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive cannabis constituent with a variety of studied benefits such as:

A strain can be high in THC, CBD, or a combination of the two. Both compounds have unique medicinal properties, some of which are amplified when both compounds are present (e.g. pain or nausea relief).
But keep in mind, while the strains below have a tendency to contain higher levels of CBD, not every harvest will demonstrate a CBD-rich chemical profile.

However, if you want to treat your condition properly, you will need to find the right intensity of CBD that works for you. Generally, taking a higher dose of CBD is usually fine as there appear to be limited consequences with regard to “too much CBD.”

With so many different brands and varieties out there, though, it can be tricky to find a strain that truly has the highest CBD content. Take a look at this list of cannabis strains and get seeds below.

1. AC/DC

Users have favored this classic for some time. This hybrid tests at pure 30:1 CBD strong with a lemongrass and cherry aroma and taste of cherry and berry. Robert Bergman writes, “ACDC is a 50/50 Sativa-Indica phenotype of Cannatonic and Ruderalis that was bred by Resin Seeds.”

2.Stephen Hawking Kush

Stephen Hawking Kush, named of course for the famous astrophysicist (and all around significant figure) is notable both because of its intense quantity of CBD, and because it is a 1:1 ratio of CBD and THC. This means that, while Stephen Hawking Kush contains a whopping 22% CBD, it also contains an equal amount of THC as well – an obvious problem if you’re looking for CBD-only strains and want to avoid the psychoactive effects of THC.

However, Stephen Hawking Kush is incredibly significant for this rarely seen ratio; most of the time, CBD is available in about 1/10th the quantity of THC in a normal marijuana strain. (So if you have a 22% THC strain, most strains of weed will consequently only have about 2.2% CBD).

The fact that Stephen Hawking Kush has a 1:1 ratio means it has been specifically designed to give both the psychoactive effects of THC – alongside the noted pain-relieving properties of the substance – and also provide a huge quantity of the medicinally useful CBD.

“SHK is a strain for those that don’t mind a psychoactive high, but also want the highest CBD strain possible without sacrificing any THC content.”

At 22% CBD and THC, this dose is capable of dealing with a massive variety of conditions, all while giving you the pleasant feeling of a gentle body high.

Noted for its relaxing, serene vibe without any kind of intense drowsiness, the strain is often chosen to treat severe degenerative disorders, such as ALS and Multiple Sclerosis. Be sure to use with caution (thanks to its THC high), but if you are suffering from a serious condition, then SHK might be just what you need.

3. Charlotte’s Web

This has long been favorite among smokers looking for mild effects and pain relief. It has become the standard of sorts for the medical marijuana justification. According to the Colorado’s Potguide.com, “It’s rapidly becoming the strain of choice for those who are interested in medication without any psychoactive effects — and though there are similar strains, none have yet approached its efficacy. Charlotte’s Web has tested at less than 0.3% THC, producing virtually no psychoactive effects.” Named after a child with seizures, it has been used successfully to treat pediatric epilepsy, Dravet’s syndrome, PTSD, and other conditions.

4. Corazon

A 2017 release by Yerba Buena farms (Hillsboro, Oregon) reportedly has a strain that cuts ACDC into a new plant that scores an unprecedented 22.5% CBD over 2.71% THC. Stoner Magazine says, “Corazon, is an easy one to fall in love with,” but it is too new to find many reviews.

5. Critical Mass

0nce they crossed an Afghani Indica and Skunk #1, they produced an easy to grow at home plant. CBD tests as high as 22%, and plants produce plump heavy buds. Critical Mass relieves aches and pains with a strong, numbing buzz throughout the body. Its high THC content also creates some psychedelic experiences that warrant use at night or late in the day.

6. Jamaican Lion

Jamaican Lion is a high-CBD sativa strain with mildly psychoactive effects that stimulate creativity and focus without the loss of functionality. Few strains compare to Jamaican Lion as it eases pain, anxiety, and inflammation without intoxication or mental cloudiness.

7. Valentine X

This valentine treat reaches 18% CBD, but it also has significant THC. The CBD relieves cancer-related pains, depression, epilepsy, inflammation, seizures, stress, and nausea. The THC produces a creative euphoric high. Leafly points out that St. Valentine is also the patron saint of those suffering from epilepsy.

8. Rafael

Rafael (or Raphael) is a sativa-dominant strain bred by Tikun Olam to contain high levels of CBD for patients experiencing sleep and digestive disorders. With a THC content of only 1 percent, Rafael is a top choice for patients disinclined to cannabis’ psychoactive effects. This strain, with CBD levels of up to 18 percent, is named after Raphael Mechoulam, a driving force in cannabis research.

9. Cannatonic

A citrusy tasting 50/50 hybrid registers 6% or less of THC with 6% to 17% of CBD. Cannatonic warms and soothes the body while improving mental focus. And, users report it helps with migraines, nausea, spasms, and stress.

10. CBD Critical Cure

This strain typically contains about 8 percent CBD and 5 percent THC, CBD Critical Cure (or simply “Critical Cure”) can annihilate pain, stress, and inflammation with little psychoactive interference. The indica influence in CBD Critical Cure gives rise to deeply relaxing effects delivered alongside a sweet, earthy flavor.
