An elaborate cannabis plantation and close to 200kg of the drug have been unearthed in Perth’s southern suburbs last week. The organises crime squad raided a semi-rural rental property in Oldbury on Tuesday, March 13, and discovered large greenhouse with 1217 cannabis plants inside.

Police also found 198kg of head material that had been harvested and more than $10,000 in cash. A 26-year-old man from Cabramatta in New South Wales has been charged with cultivating a prohibited plant with intent to sell or supply and possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply.
He fronted Armadale’s Magistrates Court on March 14 and was remanded in custody to face court again on April 10.
Investigations continue into other people who may have been involved in the cannabis operation.
